The five sections of the Watson Glaser test test different thinking abilities. They are:
- Inference: You’ll see a list of facts and a statement. You need to decide if the statement is true based on the facts.
- Recognize Assumptions: You’ll read a statement of facts and an assumption. You must decide if the assumption is correct.
- Deduction: You’ll read facts and a concluding statement. You need to decide if the statement follows from the facts.
- Interpretation: You’ll get a paragraph and a concluding statement. You have to determine if the statement follows the paragraph without a doubt.
- Evaluation of Arguments: You’ll see a question and an argument. You must decide how strong the argument is.
There are two versions of this test. One has 80 questions and a 60-minute time limit, and the other has 40 questions and a 30-minute time limit.
