About Situational Judgement Assessment Practice Test

A situational judgment test (SJT) is a test that is used to assess someone’s decision-making and judgement. The candidate will be presented with a work-like situation and a number of possible actions/responses they could take. The candidate must then choose their most likely and least likely response if faced with this situation.

There are technically no correct or incorrect answers – however, the employer will have their preferred answers. SJTs are always multiple-choice; no answers other than the options listed are allowed.

The situations or scenarios almost always mirror real-life aspects of the job.

What to expect:

Situational Judgement tests can be presented in different ways and candidates can be asked to respond to the situations presented, in different ways. Situational Judgement tests can be:

  • Paper-based
  • Computer-based, which is the most usual
  • Text only
  • Video clips to present the situation, with written response options
  • Animation and computer-generated avatars to enact the situation, with written response options
